    If the pipe slopes up about 110' at the bottom the bottle will slow down and then jump into box without breaking. The box you can suspend with buggy cord or springs so the weight will lower the box to fit more bottles at the top of the box. Would needs some adjusting but i think it would work.

    Great idea guys! Two thoughts come to mind. A simple hinged rubber flap at the bottom of the chute would stop the bottles from smashing.. With a counter weight and a spring it should slow theme down enough to drop in to the bin safely..

    Also, we don't see laundry chutes in houses any more, and my understanding was that was because of fire safety code.. (Hopefully) Without getting all the safety geeks riled up, seeing this in place, do you think fire movement could be a concern with a small chute like this?

    Maybe a light turn or flap that opens and drops it to help with not bust up the bottles
