    I switched over from the hair spray or ether to air powered, spud goes easily 3 times as far and if you make the barrel threaded you can screw on a golf ball or tennis ball barrel… mine at 110 pounds puts a golf ball out about 600yards, that's about a 1/3 of a mile.

    Add BBQ gas ignition switch, reduce the diameter of the barrel and sharpen the end of the barrel to “cut” the potato to size.

    So much fun. When we were kids my Gpa had an old Buick out in one of his fields and we'd push a 6" lag bolt through the center of the potato then fill the chamber with Aqua Net hairspray and BOOM!! That bolt would fly straight through both doors. Crazy kids ; )

    Try installing a Coghlan's Lantern Lighter. About $5 at the hardware store. I liked the BBQ Ignitor idea, too.

    I put a bbq igniter n mine, fire it at night I get 25 feet of flame with hair spray..
