Yeah that bench is going to last about month. Hollow copper tubes will not withstand weight over any length of time. It actually bowed with him on it. Dumb ass idea, built for looks and no purpose.
Those pipes won't last five minutes. Copper is too soft and malleable, unless you sit down perfectly centrally and slowly spread the load across all the pipes they are going to bend.
Another fantastic design and video, Ben! But will it be able to hold an elephant…kidding. Using the hot glue inside he couplings was such a simple but great solution to create the flush look!
Suggestions to improve it in the comments make me think that they are the same folks who would have critiqued what Tony Stark built in a cave. I just appreciate the simplicity and the elegance of this bench. Amazing.
It looks great. The negative comments here are really unnecessary. Ben is an experienced designer who has made a lot of projects from copper before, so has already considered all of your so called 'problems'. Will it bend? No. Will it turn green? No. Are the ends dangerous? No.

So busy wondering if he could, he didn’t consider whether he should.

Why copper? Super soft bendy metal? Just use wooden dowels. The copper will also eventually stain which will transfer to clothes.

Why use copper instead of galvanized metal conduit? It's way cheaper won't corrode like copper. Aesthetics? Nice project!

You should clearcoat the pipes so they stay shiny

Looked way better at 4:05 without the pipes sticking out on the ends. As others have said I would've reinforced it, this looks questionable.

I would add rebar through the copper to prevent future bending and maybe cap off the ends. Top work
