I built this but I have have a problem. I hope someone can help me out!
When I power the fusor on it the purple light, plasma (whatever you want to call it) come on for just 1-2 seconds and then disappears. The pipe connecting the fusor and the vacuum pump also lights up. Can someone tell me how to keep the light up and running for like a minute at least?

    Thanks!

But it really can produce X rays as simply as an old TV tube so forget your geiger meters and try placing some photgraphy film close and see the danger of this experiment… I'm not sure which were the conditions to create X rays but you won't regret doing a test…
