That metal is even weaker than that cheap fiberboard.

We had a sofa arm disintergrate, if turned out to be of a similar construction, that cheap fibre board amirite.. Then again reasonably easily fixed……I think a lot of stuff today is made to be disposable…..just so you spend your money replacing stuff all the time.

Great! quickly and easily done. Not every video has to be groundbreaking. This was a nice show of how to accomplish a basic fix that most would NEVER do (but should).

Pity a good video was spoiled by music over the voice, as i'm slightly hard of hearing i could not hear a word you were saying. To be frank if i wanted to listen to cheesey music i would have tuned to a cheesy music channel on youtube. I wanted to watch a video about repairing chairs and not have someone elses music preference forced upon me. Can you do a video without music when your speaking please?

If you're kind of sick 3D printers, CNC routers, and laser cutters then you need to hand in your nerd card.

Does anyone know what you call those corner joints? I see them on all the "Walmart" furniture. You can see the joint I'm talking about at &t=46

The right way to have fixed that would have been to replace the fiberboard sheet with a slightly thicker plywood. A 1/4" 2×4 sheet handi panel is available at most hardware stores and is very inexpensive. In comparison not everyone will have snips to cut metal a 1/4 ply panel can easily be cut with a handsaw.

((Edit: See reply of Caleb Kraft)) I love it how you start the video like a TV commercial. Why start it so negative instead of a more positive note? Like "Today we're going to do some great things that doesn't even require electricity!" Why should one be sick of 3D printers, CNC, etc. to enjoy the art of hand tools?
