    So no UV lamp shade?

Probably not possible with a ring, but maybe for a bracelet you could embed UV lights. Like you said, the charcoal is cool, but it really shines (pun intended) under UV light!

Have you considered maybe grinding the stabilized charcoal into a powder and then casting it in resin? Perhaps with powder and resin the project wouldn't be so prone to slinging itself apart.

Peter Brown I have a question for you. For your next dip it would you be able to. Do a melt Styrofoam packing peanuts in acetone and wait until the. All the acetone dries out it makes a hard plastic and I was wondering if you will be able to turn that.

Might be interesting to see what a blank with only a few small bits of charcoal and some other material would look like. Like the murder bowel. With magic swirls.

Could you do a Roten wood hardener comparison video?

Hello Peter, A good video. Charcoal isn't the most cooperative of materials, because even with the support of resin, its structure is inherently crumbly and weak. If you do revisit, would you try a lump of high quality "steam coal", (used over here for steam locomotives and power station turbines in the day). Regards, Glenn 🙂

What do you think about a bowl made to look like it's made of soup. I'm thinking ramen. Tinted Resin with noodles , bits of parsley or other vegetables, maybe a slice of pork. I think that would be cool as hell but it's probably too insane of a project.

My great uncle just passed and I wanted to make something for his kids with the funeral flowers. Maybe some locket/beads or cufflinks. Any suggestion of which resin to use/ how to keep the pieces suspended?

That penetrating epoxy is used for hardening or waterproofing wood, generally in boat building. It is a slow cure and that's why it was still so rubbery. Give it a week or two and it will become just as hard as everything else you use.

I wonder if you could skip marinating meat for hours (for flavor) if you used a vacuum chamber. Put the meat in the vacuum chamber with the marinade, and then do the same process for stabilizing wood so that the juices fill every cavity.
