i don't like how expensive luxury tea time is in nyc (i live here so i know). Its like $75-175 at the best hotels for two pots of tea and a couple of snacks! I just go to a pastry shop and buy my own delectables and brew nice teas from home. Not the same atmosphere but more comfort and more affordable. Besides in NYC, we don't lack for patisseries and other ethnic bakeries with unique desserts.

It is so inviting and displayed so nicely.High tea is superb, once I was invited to high tea by a hundred years old lady who was a wonderful person. She made cucumber sandwiches and scones with a china bowl containing strawberry jam and a one with clotted cream.Beautiful napkins which were embroidered by hand.Fond memories of her and a special tea all presented with porcelain tea pot and cups, saucers.A wonderful day which evokes a memorable experience spent with an intelligent lady who was amazing friend, she had been a headmistress formerly. Thank you for video and blessings and greetings and hugs from the north east of England.xx

High tea? This is afternoon tea. High tea is a hot meal eaten at a high table, hence the name. It was the meal of industrial workers in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Afternoon tea was eaten from a low table In the sitting or drawing room hence it is also known as low tea.
