This is a great example of what is possible when you think outside….. and around the box. Creativity is the driving force, not the tools.

Yeah well sure… If I had a Festool utility knife I could make that too! Haha! This is phenomenal… Ya smashed it David!

I thought you was crazy saying you built a walnut box with a ultility knife. I would of never guessed that you used veneer on foam board. Great project, that's a nice little box. And I'm sure this is a inspiration for a beginner with limited tools who thinks they need a shop full of tools to build anything

Awesome video David! My daughter watched with me and she wants you to know that "you worked really hard on it and if you have more videos please send them to us!" 🙂

I liked the soundtrack to this project just as much as the project itself! Great work!

I like angry Dave, flocking the whole inside would make it even more fancy! Now with the leftover you can flock your dashboard rally style.

I was in Toledo for FIVE HOURS today, and you never once tried to reach out to me. I'm hurt, confused, and I don't know what to say.

interestingly, this project actually requires a fair bit of patience and preciseness. Sand too far? Can't use putty. Getting all those veneer edges to meet cleanly was a feat to behold. It would be cool to sit it on a craft fair table and watch the bemused looks over the weight of it.
I really liked the flocking on the underside of the lid.

Love this sort of thing, beautiful project, and a low entry point tools wise!

Look at you and your fancy utility knife… How are normal people supposed to build your stuff when we don't have all the tools you do?

You are straight killing it with this editing/video style. I have about zero interest in a foam core box wrapped in veneer (but I'm totally on board with what you are trying to do with this video), but you made the video still interesting and fun to watch.

Walnut veneer box. I thought you were actually going carved walnut with a utility knife

It's easy to make things if you use your hands… just use your feet. Not everyone has access to fancy utility knives and 10 fingers! You've changed!

    Dave,
I’ve tried multiple times to cut veneer with my silhouette, unsuccessful, I’ve tried tip depth and speed with multiple passes, if anybody else has tips please share. AWESOME PROJECT, spring break is coming up and may try with my son
