I love how he says, "Nice, Crisp, Focus." Those photos weren't great, and could get a half decent shot with a cheap Macro lens too get better results.

I was looking for a good excuse to spend 2 bucks in Pringles (and 4:09 minutes of my life), and I found this video. Thank you.

I think it would heavily vignette

the problem with the softness is probably more a matter of inexact focus than your lens and tube arrangement. It would be almost impossible to focus using the tripod procedure you outline at the end of this vid. You would be better off holding the camera, moving closer or further and then using burst mode when you see the focus you want in liveview.

this is stupid, i used a small lens from a 12 mpx camera atached it to a s6 edge with max zoom could see a dot from a pen with flash on as large as a coin and the image was clear

If you spent that much money on a good DSLR, why the hell would you not spend a few extra dollars on a macro lens??? This looks worse than a flip phone camera…

Good new is that it's a relatively cheap alternative to photo gear when shooting hyper micro images… The down side is the fact that it's going to magnify any and all of the lens' bad attributes… The slightest bit of chromatic aberration is going to be terribly obvious and lead to soft images. Most cheap lenses are not flat field designs so that becomes another issue.
